Ninety nine problems
A famous musician, whose name escapes me at the moment, stated that he once went through a period of his life where he was afflicted by ninety nine different problems. But his significant other was apparently not one of those ninety nine problems. I may be paraphrasing there but you get the gist.
We can all suffer from a lack of motivation at times, I think that self employed people and freelancers especially have issue with this. Speaking honestly, working in an office at home it is so easy to get distracted when you don’t have a clear focus.
When working on a client project it’s different of course, there are deadlines to meet and check-in times for progress reports. But when that work is signed off and invoices sent, in moments of downtime, how do you stay productive?
Just like the aforementioned musical artist with all of his problems, my wife is not one of mine. In fact she is the opposite, she’s the one I need to listen to when I just want to put my feet up and chill on a Saturday. Take the opportunities to not listen to the procrastinator inside you, so when your significant other suggests going for a walk because it’s a glorious day outside, that’s what you should do!
Then make the most of it, take your camera take your drone take your warm hat and scarf and accounts and go to a forest somewhere. Whatever it may be, wherever is local to you, take advantage and go! A break from your regular environment is always going to be beneficial.
In moments like this for me, I just go and take pictures of pretty things or fly the drone looking for that one perfect shot (that is a life goal that never end of course), but whatever you do, have fun doing it.
So that’s one down, only ninety eight problems left to tackle.
